South East Governors Meet In Enugu, To Meet Buhari For Release Of Nnamdi Kanu

South East Governors Forum Meeting:

South East governors met at the Government House, Enugu yesterday & agreed to immediately meet with the various and appropriate authorities of federal presence to address the issues of IPOB, MASSOB, Nnamdi Kanu's detention, ecological problems of the South East, various water dams that have been abandoned in the zone, power and security challenges and other concerns of the people of the area.

Presenting its communique after the meeting, the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, His Excellency, Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi State noted that the governors are very committed to addressing these challenges, adding that action is already being taken in that regard.

He also disclosed that the South East governors agreed to meet with all stakeholders of the zone to discuss and address all issues that are of interest to the people of the region.

The governors equally approved the constitution of two representatives per state for the South East Economic Committee that would immediately meet and fashion out a road map towards the economic integration of the region that will be presented in their next meeting.

The meeting was attended by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State (host) , Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State while the Chairman of the Forum announced that the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu had a delayed flight in Lagos and could not meet up with the meeting.
